April MAS General Meeting – April 21st
Due to an unfortunate computer failure, our previous speaker for April has bowed out, and been replaced by Ted Judy. Thanks Ted for stepping up on short notice. (T-Shirt orders for the new design will also be taken at this meeting. See the posts on FB and the forums for details)
Ted Judy is an addicted aquarist with over 35 years of fish keeping and breeding experience. He is a generalist who enjoys all types of fish from anabantids to tetras, but always finds plenty of room in his fish room for fish from West Africa (especially the dwarf cichlids). Ted’s club affiliations are the American Cichlid Association, the Madison Area Aquatic Hobbyists and the Milwaukee Aquarium Society. Ted is also an avid birder. He is a prolific speaker, proficient writer, and wants to be a better photographer. See more of Ted’s hobby by visiting his video blog at www.tedsfishroom.com.
Colombia 2016 – Llanos
Go along with Ted as he explores the Llanos streams around Villavicencio, Colombia. Apistogramma, Corydoras, Crenicichla and lots of other great aquarium fish, filmed in the streams where they live. Visit a fish farm that raises rare Colombian species like altum angelfish and panda uaru. See how a fish shipment is packed for export out of the country.
The first half hour is for introductions and catching up. Doors close and our speaker will begin as promptly at 7 as is possible. During the presentation, please be respectful of the other attendees, as well as the speaker and take any private discussions to the bar, oh, and please silence your phones. Those who wish to dine after the meeting, we have arranged for a waitress to handle food and drink orders in our meeting room after the meeting.
