Hi. Just wondering if you have to have a membership to attend the fish o ramma event or is a public event and guests pay the $2 fee to get in? I’ve never been to any aquarium/fish related events and was hoping to take a look at what one would look like!

    • Robert says:

Sorry for the slow response. Both the Fish-o-ramma and the auction events are open to the public. The auction is free to attend and the Fish-o-ramma is $2 per person at the door. We would love to have you come take a look, and hopefully it would encourage you to come to one of our meetings which are also open and free to guests!

      Thank you,

Rob McLure – Milwaukee Aquarium Society

I have perhaps a dumb question to ask. Is mas a good idea for a newbie to the hobby? I’ve always enjoyed and have been fascinated by aquariums. Fairly recently I set up an aquarium and am loving it minus all the hiccups.

Not a dumb question. I WISH I had found MAS before I started setting up tanks. There would be a fair fewer fish in the afterlife if I’d had that pool of knowledge available to me. Sorry it took me nearly a month to respond, but please feel welcome to join us this Friday for our monthly meeting. Great speaker, and there should be a few interesting items available at the mini-auction at the end of the meeting.

Hello, I am a member of MAS, WAKO, and the AKA, my MAS member # on my card is 24. I am wondering if I can borrow the books listed below from the MAS library. As you can tell, my thing is killifish!! Please email me and let me know when I can borrow these, my guess is the next meeting at Hoffers?

A World of Killies (vol. IV)
Aqua log – Killifishes of the World – Old World Killis II
    Aqua log, Old World Killifishes
Aqua log, New World Killis (Text: Deutsh + English)
Atlas of Killifish of the Old World

      Hi Jeff,
As acting librarian please see me at the next MAS meeting at Hoffers on August 15th at 7:30pm I will help you check out any of these books assuming you have been a member for at least 4 months, your membership is up to date, and they aren’t already checked out.
