The Milwaukee Aquarium Society funds events primarily through the auctioning of fish and plants. A mini-auction is held at each general meeting. There are two large auctions each year, one in the Fall and the other in the Spring. Next auction:

NEW THIS AUCTION!!! BUY IT NOW TABLE
One out of every ten bags you list on your seller sheet can be placed on the Buy It Now table with a price that you set. If the bag sells the club will still get the usual $1 plus 20% of the remainder. If the bag does not sell by 2:00 you can pick the bag up off the table and only pay the $1 bag fee to the club. Any bags that are not picked up by 2:15 are sprinkled into whichever lot we are working through at that time (they will not have to wait until the last table).
You do not need to register the bags any differently. They will be put into the system on your seller sheet. When the bag sells a runner chit is filled out just as if the bag went through the auction, but with the buy it now price. Buyers do not have to have the cash on hand at the Buy It Now table, but they have to be registered as a buyer at the auction.
