The Fish-O-Ramma is the twice yearly aquarium swap meet sponsored by the MAS. Vendors who want to sell their fish, plants and/or aquarium supplies can rent table space. Buyers pay a small fee to get into the event. The sellers do not split their sales with the club like they do when auctioning fish in the large auctions.
About MAS
The Milwaukee Aquarium Society is an association of hobbyists interested in all things aquatic. Freshwater to marine, animals to plants, nano to pond... whatever your interests there are MAS members who share them with you.
The club meets on the third Friday of every month (except for July and December) at Hoffer's Tropical Lie Pets, a store on the northwest side of town. Each meeting features a speaker presentation, club business and a mini-auction of fish and plants.
The MAS also hosts six other events each year. Two swap meets (Fish-o-Ramma), two auctions, a July picnic and a Holiday banquet (in December). The club also puts on special events, and was the host club for the American Cichlid Association Convention in 2010.
For more information you can explore this website, join our online forum community and/or come to one of our events. MAS is sure to have something to interest you and help you to enjoy your aquarium hobby even more.
Madison Area Aquatic Hobbyists (MAAH)
Our friends over in Madison started a club in 2009, and the two clubs (MAS and MAAH) try to coordinate events so that everyone can participate in either city. Our clubs will share speakers in those months when our meetings fall on consecutive days, and the speaker will usually present a different program for each club. Below are links to the MAAH website and forum, and a calendar of their upcoming events.MAAH Links
