Low Carb Foods
02/05/09 at 1:54pm

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to get some opinions on these Low Carb foods.
Here is some of the info that was already posted on a Vendor's Site.
I have ordered many times from this particular vendor and always have felt he was Forthright and Honest. Just want people's opinions on this and if they think this food is indeed better.
Thanks !

Zero Carbohydrate Advantage:

Scientific research shows protein is highly digestible by most fish, carbohydrates are not, poorly digested ingredients pollute your tank. Most foods have more than 30% carbs; This is the first fish food formulate without using any cereal grains, grain proteins, glutens, carbohydrates, starches or fibers. We use only sea-based protein sources, like spirullana, that contain very small amounts of carbs. Our highly digestible protein rich foods are great for your fish, great for your tank and great for your pocketbook.

The Right Balance In One Food:

You no longer have to purchase one food to enhance the color of your fish, another for spiruliana, one for garlic and still another food for clear and clean water. Brings out the color on your fish with natural color enhancer's.

Dramatic Health Advantages:

Our propriety blend of bioceuticals will quickly and dramatically improve your fish's ability to fight disease and parasites. This propriety technology will significantly reduce the aggressive tendencies between fish in a community tank. We have designed our foods for improved health, long life and great taste.

Dramatic Increase in Breeding:

These well balanced pellets will also increase your spawning results because the food is highly digestible. Your fish will absorb more of the food which will increase there egg production and breeding behaviors.

I like the food, but there are few things to get used to.  First, I prefer the smaller particle foods.  THe larger stuff is not consumed by me small fish, though the size does not seem too big.  Two, whatever you think you need to feed... feed half.  A littel goes a long way.  Overfeeding results in a very stinky tank.

I've decided I dont like it. My fish don't eat it and the fry growth from my brichardi's is almost non existant.

I do not use it for fish that require a 'wiggle factor' to trigger feeding response.  Those fish do not eat many prepared foods anyway, so this is not much of a surprise.  Everything I have that readily eats pellets or flake eats this stuff.

I've had the totally opposite effect over here, my fish almost seem like they want to kill one another just to get to it and my fry rate has gone up substancially
